When you make THESE changes, your number of job interviews dramatically increase. When looking at the data for my clients for landing roles at LARGE companies, here is how it shook out: 🍊 12% landed interviews by applying online 🍊 27% landed interviews through referrals 🍊 61% landed interviews by being sourced on LinkedIn Most people had a recruiter find them and reached out first with opportunities. Take for instance one of my clients, Kyle, who struggled to land interviews for months, and his work visa was about to expire. I took him on as a client and told him he doesn’t need to add any experience or certifications. Instead I helped him utilize Job Shopping strategies to change his resume and LinkedIn profile. He then started getting 10–15 recruiter outreach messages a month from being found on LinkedIn. He landed interviews at companies including YouTube and Adobe, and ultimately accepted a Product Marketing role at one of his target companies for $15,000 over the stated salary range for the role. Too often job seekers ignore the fact that LinkedIn is a powerful search engine. If people are looking for candidates with your skills, it’s about time that you are the person who shows up!
