6th hack (applies to all ages)… include the bullet points from your resume in the job description sections on LinkedIn to keyword optimize #linkedin #career #jobsearch
Transcript
Here are some borderline unethical tricks to avoid age discrimination on LinkedIn. We're gonna cover the profile picture, lying by omission, technology, how to make them like you, and how to make sure they don't worry about your age. You don't need an up-to-date profile picture. They are gonna see you one day, so we don't want to be too out of date. Five to seven years ago, that's probably fine. We're gonna lie by omission. Delete experience over 15 years old, delete your graduation dates. Not unethical, but frankly unskippable. Hiring managers worry about your ability to use technology. So in the skills section, add the software you can use, but omit the basic software. Like if you have Microsoft Word in there, game over. So there's this totally unfounded bias that older professionals aren't as easy to work with. If we add a couple recommendations to our profile, we prove that's not true for us. And if you don't want them to worry about your health, your energy, add a banner image of you doing something healthy like kayaking or hiking.

Transplant note
Already an Australian account and the mechanics are all platform-level, so nothing is country-locked — no US visa law, no US salary bands. The transferable structure is the strongest thing here: name a bias, preview five concrete profile edits in one breath, then deliver each in two sentences with the specific field on LinkedIn to change (profile picture, dates, skills section, recommendations, banner image). Swap the bias from age to the overseas-degree/no-local-experience discount and every slot has an obvious Ark equivalent — how the education section reads with a foreign university, which overseas tooling to list versus omit, using recommendations from overseas managers to carry credibility across borders. The "omit basic software or game over" beat is a real mechanism worth stealing.
Brand fit note
Trips Never ships #1. The video explicitly frames its own method as deception — "We're gonna lie by omission. Delete experience over 15 years old, delete your graduation dates" — and the hook sells the whole thing as "borderline unethical tricks". Ark sells positioning, not fabrication, and the correct reframe is "tell the truth in the most commercially compelling order", which is a different video, not a wording tweak. The banner-image advice ("add a banner image of you doing something healthy like kayaking") also stages a false health signal. Secondary misses: no numbers, and audience mismatch — the reader is an older Australian professional, not an internationally-trained person in a survival job. The five-slot list structure is worth keeping; the substance is not.
