The interview is decided in the first 10 minutes. The answers just confirm it. I’ve hired PMs for 12 years — here’s the actual scorecard. 👇 Comment INTERVIEW and I’ll DM you my full PM interview checklist — the exact prep sheet I give candidates I actually want to win. #productmanagement #pminterview #jobinterview #careertips #hiringmanager
Transcript
1. Dress one level above the role, even on Zoom. 2. Never sound desperate. Confident energy beats perfect answers. 3. Research your interviewers, not just the company. Mention something specific they shared. 4. Bring a point of view about their product. Here's what I would fix in your onboarding beats any credentials. 5. Kill your filler words. Tell stories with numbers. Grew activation 14%, not improved metrics. 7. Be early. 8. Prepare questions because the questions you ask are the real interview. I hire PMs and this is the scorecard.

AU transplant

Transplant note
The shape — rapid numbered scorecard, authority reveal withheld to the last line — transplants well and suits a short reel. Content is mostly country-neutral, but 'Dress one level above the role' and the PM-specific framing need Australian recalibration: corporate Melbourne/Sydney dress norms are less formal, and the AU version should hit the specific thing our reader is screened on — local-experience objections, STAR-format behavioural answers, and naming an Australian company's product. The 'grew activation 14%' example should become an Australian-context metric.
Brand fit note
The list format and the authority stamp are reusable, but the substance is mostly what the voice doc calls generic-career-coach filler — 'Be early', 'Never sound desperate. Confident energy beats perfect answers', 'Kill your filler words' would all survive being said by any LinkedIn coach, which is the explicit cut test. Only two items contain real mechanism: research the interviewer specifically, and bring a point of view ('here's what I would fix in your onboarding'). Cost accounting is almost absent — one number ('14%') across eight items. Rebuild as three mechanisms with Australian numbers rather than eight tips, and drop the comment-for-DM lead magnet unless Ark genuinely ships the asset.
