@beccaxbloom There’s a BIG difference between trying to look competent and actually being competent at work. When you’re focused on looking competent, feedback feels like a threat. You defend. You explain. You justify. You point out everything you did right. You make sure everyone knows why it wasn’t really your fault. But when you’re actually confident in your competence? You can say: “I missed that.” “That’s good feedback.” “I should have handled that differently.” “Here’s what I’m going to do next.” Because one mistake doesn’t suddenly erase everything you’re good at. Ironically, the harder you fight to prove you’re competent, the less confident you can appear. The people who build the strongest reputations at work aren’t the ones who never get it wrong. They’re the ones who can own it, learn from it, fix it, and move forward without making it an identity crisis. That’s competence. And that’s leadership. #CareerAdvice #Leadership #ExecutivePresence #CareerGrowth #WorkplaceTips
