Stop saying “Sure, I’ll take that on.” Start saying: “What resources and support are available to make this successful?” High performers have a bad habit of making everything look easy. We take on the extra project. Absorb the work when someone leaves. Fix the broken process. Meet the impossible deadline. And then leadership assumes: Great. They’ve got it. But taking ownership doesn’t mean doing everything yourself. Before accepting more work, start asking: → Who else can support this? → What budget or resources are available? → What should be deprioritized to make room for this? → Can the timeline be adjusted? → Who has decision-making authority when I hit a roadblock? You don’t get bonus points for quietly drowning while making everyone else’s life easier. Ask for what you need to actually succeed. That’s not being difficult. That’s managing capacity like a leader. #CareerAdvice #CorporateCareer #LeadershipSkills #WorkplaceBoundaries #CareerGrowth
