This resume for someone with over 15 years of experience will get rejected, and I'm gonna tell you exactly why. And I'm saying this as someone with hiring experience. As a former V P N. Director. That now helps people get hired in this terrible job market. I'm gonna share with you the three biggest mistakes so that you can avoid them on your resume. So the first mistake is really common with senior level resumes, and that's having a separate key achievement section at the top of the resume. Having key achievements on your resume is very important, but there are a couple issues with having it separated like that. The first issue is it ends up pushing down your work experience on the page, which you definitely don't wanna do, because it's the most important part of your resume. Recruiters and hiring managers are quickly scanning your resume specifically looking for what titles you've held, where you've worked, and how long you've been there. And when they're looking at your work experience, they wanna be able to quickly find your experience and your achievements all together for each role. Which leads to the other issue, because now they have to connect the dots to understand which key achievements tied to which role. The next mistake on the resume is that there's a fourth role on here from about 17 years ago that's pretty junior and not directly relevant to the roles that they're targeting. Resume does not have To list your entire career history. It's just a highlight reel of your most recent and relevant experience for the roles that you're targeting. Next mistake is that the resume is missing a skills section. Even for a senior role, having a skills section can be really helpful because it allows you to add keywords. And keywords are important because a lot of companies use applicant tracking systems to initially scan the resumes to see how well they match up for the role, and keywords are a big part of that. Making those types of updates can be the difference between getting rejected and getting an interview. And you can access the exact resume templates that I use for different career levels. That includes these types of tips and more examples. They're all available in my bio.

Transplant note
Structure carries directly: show a real senior resume, deliver a verdict, name three mistakes with the reason behind each. No US-specific claims — ATS use, keyword scanning and 'highlight reel not full history' all hold in Australia. Minor changes: 'VP' reads more American than Australian, and Australian audiences use resume/CV interchangeably so the wording should be settled. For internationally-trained professionals, the fourth-role cut needs nuance — overseas roles often need keeping but reframing, not deleting.
Brand fit note
Format and shape are strongly on-brand: real mechanism per mistake (separate achievements section pushes work experience down and forces the reader to connect achievements to roles), and contempt is aimed at the scanning system, not the reader. Two blockers. First, 'will get rejected' plus 'this terrible job market' are unverified assertions with nothing from the proof bank behind them; the voice doc requires numbers, and this video has none except '15 years' and '17 years ago'. Second, the CTA sells paid resume templates via bio — a third-party paid product structure Ark would replace with its own offer. Also strip the ATS keyword advice or make it specific, since it's the single most generic sentence a career coach could write, and open cold on the verdict rather than the credential aside ('as a former VP and Director').
