Thinking about getting into the mining industry? A role as a driller offsider might be the perfect entry point, but it definitely isn't for the faint-hearted. If you are already used to doing intense physical work and working long hours—like working on a construction site, in a quarry, or as a landscaper—this position could be a fantastic fit for you. Make no mistake, it is really tough work. You will be working long days, carrying 40-kilo rods on your shoulders, cleaning down heavy equipment, and bagging up core samples. However, the hard work pays off. You can earn up to 100k to 120k a year, making it well worth the effort if you are willing to put in the hard yards. Just keep in mind that you will need a HR driver's licence to secure one of these jobs. Ready to start your journey?
