how I answered this difficult question😭 #interviewtips #interviewquestion
Transcript
Are you interviewing with any other companies right now? Yeah, I am. They're all at different stages. I have two final ones and one at the first stage. But honestly, you guys are at the top of my list based on everything that we've discussed. The only reason I got involved in a few other processes is because I got more callbacks than I expected through Sprout. Just being able to, you know, swipe to apply with a tailored cover letter and resume brought in some really aligned opportunities. But this one is definitely at the top of my list, the one I'm most interested in. Is there any way we could expedite this process so we could move forward a bit quicker?

Narrative structure
interviewer question -> scripted model answer -> close with an ask
AU transplant
yes
Transplant note
The question is asked verbatim in Australian interviews and the structure (admit other processes, quantify the stages, rank this one first, then ask to expedite) transplants directly. Nothing here depends on US visa law or US salary bands. Two changes: strip the embedded Sprout app plug ('swipe to apply with a tailored cover letter and resume'), and add the migrant-specific layer, because an internationally-trained candidate saying 'I have two finals' is exactly the credibility signal that kills the 'no local experience' objection. Australian recruiters also expect a stated notice period, which the US script omits.
Brand fit note
The scripted-answer format is strong and Ark-compatible: real mechanism, specific counts ('two final ones and one at the first stage'), and it ends with an ask rather than a feeling. Two blockers. First, it is a paid product placement for a third-party apply tool (Sprout) inside the answer — that alone forces with_changes under the rule about promoting third-party paid programs. Second, and more serious, 'you guys are at the top of my list' is coached flattery that most viewers will say whether or not it's true; that edges into Never ships #1 (misrepresentation in an interview). Reframe as the doc instructs: tell the truth in the most commercially compelling order — say the true version ('this is the role closest to what I actually want to build, here's why') and only claim top-of-list if it is. Keep the expedite ask; it's the needle-moving part.
