5 things to stop saying in interviews 👇 ❌ “I don’t have experience with that.” ✅ “I haven’t done that directly, but I’ve handled something similar. Here’s how I’d approach it.” Example: “I haven’t managed that exact system, but I’ve led similar implementations with multiple stakeholders, so I’d start by understanding the requirements, risks and dependencies.” ❌ “I think…” ✅ “My view is…” / “Based on my experience…” It sounds small, but removing unnecessary hesitation can make your answer sound much more confident. ❌ “Sorry, I’m not sure if this is right.” ✅ “I’d approach it this way…” You can be uncertain about the answer without sounding uncertain about yourself. ❌ “That’s a good question.” ✅ Pause for 2–3 seconds, think, then answer. You don’t need to fill every silence. A short pause usually makes you look thoughtful, not unprepared. ❌ “I’ll do whatever the team needs.” ✅ “Here’s the kind of impact I’d want to make…” Example: “In my first few months, I’d focus on understanding the team, identifying process gaps and finding where I can create the most value quickly.” 3 bonus interview tips: • Use examples instead of adjectives. Don’t just say “I’m a strong leader.” Tell them about a time you handled conflict, influenced stakeholders or delivered under pressure. • Bridge experience gaps. If you haven’t done something exactly, connect it to a similar skill, project or situation you already handled. • End answers with impact. Whenever possible, explain the result: time saved, risk reduced, process improved, revenue increased or customer experience improved. Confidence in an interview doesn’t mean knowing everything. It means communicating clearly without underselling yourself. Save this before your next interview. 📌 Keywords: interview tips, interview answers, job interview, interview confidence, interview preparation, career advice, job search tips, behavioural interview Hashtags: #InterviewTips #JobInterview #InterviewAnswers #InterviewPreparation #jobsearchtips
