Transcript
This resume for someone with over 15 years of experience was rejected for over 5 months, but this updated version finally got him interviews and a new role. So I'm gonna share with you the three biggest updates that were made so that you can easily apply them to your resume, starting right at the top. The professional summary on this before version was way too long, and this is a very common mistake that I see. Summaries are nice to have, especially if you're applying for a mid or senior level role. But you wanna keep it short, like two to three sentences max, just focusing on your most relevant experience, industries and skills. And one of the main reasons why you wanna keep it short is because you don't wanna push down that work experience section, which is the most important part of your resume. I also moved the skills section to the bottom as well to move up that work experience. And the next major update was to the overall readability and structure. Keep in mind recruiters and hiring managers are looking at resumes and reading them for like less than 10 seconds. So it's really critical that they can immediately see that you're at the right level, you have the right experience, and there's proof of your achievements. And one of the easiest ways to make it easy for them to scan is to keep it short. So I typically remove older roles from over 15 Years ago, because this will make room to expand on your most recent and relevant roles, which is really what recruiters and hiring managers care most about. And if you really wanna keep some of those older roles, you can just put them in an additional work experience section towards the bottom without bullet points. The last big update to the resume was to the work experience details, so this after version includes much more specific and unique details that focus on his results with quantifiable proof of his achievements. And this is really important because so many resumes out there are now A. I generated and they're so vague and high level. So when you give specific details to your experience with numbers and proof of your achievements, you will immediately stand out. Comment with any questions and I'll try to answer as many as I can. And you can also access the exact resume templates that I use for mid and senior level roles with step by step instructions and examples for each section. Or you can have me write your resume for you. Details are available from the link in my profile.

AU transplant
yes
Transplant note
Australian account, no US-specific claims, and the before/after receipt shape is directly reusable. The three fixes (short summary, skills moved down, older roles trimmed, quantified bullets) all hold in the Australian market. What would need adding for our reader: how to handle overseas employers the Australian recruiter has never heard of, and where the 'no local experience' objection gets defused — this version is written for a local senior candidate with a continuous domestic history.
Brand fit note
Strong structure and it carries real numbers (5 months rejected, 10-second scan, 15-year cutoff, 2-3 sentence summary), which satisfies the 'at least one number' check, and the receipt open is cold with no preamble. Problems: the outcome claim is unverified and not in our proof bank, so it could not ship as stated; it funnels to a third-party paid template and resume-writing service; and the advice itself is generic enough that a US coach could publish it unchanged, which the relevance test rejects. Rebuild with an Ark placement from the proof bank, add the subdivision move (which resume shape suits which sub-role) and the internationally-trained angle.
