7 money habits I stole from people who never stress about money 💰🇨🇦 Over time, I noticed something about people who seemed financially secure. They weren't necessarily earning the most or giving up everything they enjoyed. They just approached money differently. I started adopting those habits into my own life, and they changed how I manage money and build wealth. Here are 7 that stuck with me 👇 1. I enjoy my $6 iced coffees guilt-free. ☕ Building wealth doesn't mean cutting every little pleasure. If it fits my plan and brings me joy, I enjoy it. I focus on big financial decisions, not every small purchase. 2. I don't upgrade my lifestyle just because my income increases. I didn't rush to buy a fancy car or house just because I could afford more. I'd rather build wealth and flexibility than take on expenses just to look successful. 3. I keep investing in my earning potential. My first software engineering job in Canada paid around $60K. I built specialized DevOps skills and made strategic career moves, eventually growing my compensation to over $185K. Cutting expenses has limits. Increasing your earning potential can change the equation. 4. I invest before I spend. As soon as my salary comes in, 20% goes straight into my investment account. I don't wait to see what's left at the end of the month. 5. I review my expenses every month. I analyze where my money went and check whether I'm on track with my goals. It's not about judging purchases—it's about knowing where I stand. 6. I plan for big expenses ahead of time. I budget for trips to India, flights, and other major costs—and keep an emergency fund for the unexpected. Planning ahead lets me enjoy life without financial surprises becoming a crisis. 7. I play the long game. I'm not trying to look wealthy today. I'm working toward financial freedom and more control over my time. I invest consistently and make choices that support that goal. The biggest lesson I've learned? You don't need to obsess over every dollar. You need a system, intentional decisions, and consistency over time. Which of these habits do you already follow—and which one are you working on? 👇 Follow @shivanshsingla119 for more on careers, investing & financial freedom. #personalfinance #financialfreedom #canadapersonalfinance #canada #canada🇨🇦
