Graduating this year? Here's what nobody tells you at orientation. Your degree gets you the paper. It does not get you the callback. International graduates are hired at a lower rate than local grads — not because they're less capable, but because they're missing the thing Australian employers actually hire on: proof someone here already trusts them. That proof doesn't show up the day you graduate. It gets built — through the internship you did in second year, the volunteer role you took when you had "no time," the local reference who can vouch for how you actually work. If you're still studying: start now. Every part-time role, every uni club, every local contact is local proof you'll need in 12 months. If you've already graduated and you're stuck: it's not you. It's that no one's explained the system to you yet. That's what I do here. Save this. Send it to one international student who needs to see it before it's too late. What are you studying? Tell me below — I want to know who's in this community. #InternationalStudent #StudyInAustralia #AustraliaGraduate #JobsInAustralia #StudentVisa WorkInAustralia AustraliaCareer NewToAustralia MoveToAustralia GraduateJobs AustraliaImmigration ImmigrantLife CareerAdvice AustraliaLife ExpatsInAustralia
