They show judgment, not just experience. Instead of: “I had multiple competing priorities, so I organized my tasks, communicated with stakeholders and met the deadlines.” Say: “I had two deadlines competing for the same resources. I prioritized the regulatory deliverable because missing it created a business risk, renegotiated the internal deadline, and gave both stakeholders a revised plan that same day. We met the regulatory deadline with no escalation.” The difference? The first answer tells me what you did. The second tells me: → what you noticed → what you prioritized → why you made that decision → what trade-off you accepted → what happened because of it That is what makes a hiring manager think: “I trust this person to make decisions when I’m not in the room.” Before your next interview, review your strongest stories and ask: Does this answer prove how I think, or just describe what I did? That distinction can decide the offer. Comment INTERVIEW if you want my interview framework. #interviewskills #interview #jobinterview
