Speak up in the meeting before you’ve perfectly rehearsed what you’re going to say. Send the networking message that feels a little awkward. Ask your boss what it would actually take to get promoted. Raise your hand for the opportunity you’re not 100% sure you can handle. Ask for the raise. Set the boundary. Start the thing. Because one of the biggest lies we tell ourselves in our careers is: “I’ll do it when I’m ready.” But confidence usually doesn’t come BEFORE the action. It comes because you took the action, survived it, learned something, and realized you were more capable than you thought. Your next career move doesn’t need to be perfect.
