You NEVER answer no to that. Here are 5 questions you can ask: “What would make someone in this role stand out as an exceptional performer in their first 6–12 months?” → Shows you’re already thinking about success and impact. “What are the biggest challenges the person stepping into this role will be expected to solve?” → Gets you insight into what the company actually needs. “How would you describe the team’s working style and what tends to make someone successful on this team?” → Helps you understand culture without asking the generic “What’s the culture like?” “What have you seen top performers in this role do differently from everyone else?” → Encourages the recruiter to reveal the behaviours they value most. “Is there anything about my background or experience that you’d like me to clarify before we wrap up?” → My favourite for interviews. It gives you a chance to address concerns while you still have the room to do so. Follow @ananyamentors for more job advice!
