Flying in and out for mining jobs from Sydney or Melbourne can be pretty tough. For Sydney, there are options in the Hunter Valley, but trying to fly out to Perth is extra competitive. Most entry-level positions in Western Australia are strictly reserved for local WA residents. That said, there are a few exceptions if you are targeting high-demand roles. For instance, if you are looking at becoming a driller offsite from Melbourne, drilling companies like DDH1 are actually opening up FIFO options into WA to fill these roles.
