One of the hardest lessons I learned in corporate life: You can care about your work without making it part of your identity. You can spend months building something, fight for an idea, care about your team, and still accept that the company might change direction tomorrow. A project getting canceled doesn’t mean you failed. A promotion you didn’t get doesn’t mean you’re not capable. A reorg doesn’t mean your work suddenly became worthless. Companies make decisions based on budgets, priorities, strategy, politics, and timing. Your job is one part of your life. It should never become the measure of your worth. Do excellent work. Build your reputation. Keep learning. But keep enough emotional distance to walk away when the business changes. That’s Corporate Secret #2. Comment “SECRET” if you want Episode 3. #CorporateLife #CareerAdvice #WorkplaceTips
