If you haven’t had to look for a job in years, here are 5 things I’d do before applying to a single job: 1. Look at the jobs you want. Pull at least 5 similar postings and look for patterns in what employers want. 2. Create your target job checklist. Identify the skills, experience, and qualifications that keep showing up. 3. Update your resume for where you’re going next. Give the most relevant experience more attention and detail. 4. Cut what no longer helps you. Remove or de-emphasize older or less relevant information that’s taking up valuable space. 5. Write for the ATS AND the human. Use relevant keywords, but make it easy for a recruiter or hiring manager to quickly see why you’re qualified. If you want help applying this strategy to your resume, you can access the exact resume template I use with step-by-step instructions and examples for each section or you can have me write your resume for you. Details are available from the link in my profile. #resumehelp#resumetips #resumetemplate#jobhunting#cvhelp
