I’ve helped millions of people land jobs… but my own career started with me as a lousy corporate employee. Hi, I’m Madeline 👋 I’m seeing a lot of new people following, so it’s time for a re-intro. Before my YouTube channel with 30,000,000 views, before publishing “Reverse the Search” with Penguin Random House, and before being an instructor for Spotify & LinkedIn Learning, I was the person trying to figure out why working hard wasn’t enough. I was a straight A student who got low scores on her first corporate performance review. Then I went on to get fired from my next job. I then continuously failed job interviews because I had incurable nerves. I saw behind the curtain as the Head of HR, and learned exactly what it takes to land job offers and promotions. I landed the best job of my life. ...Only to be laid off with more than half of the company. But I already had an inbox full of companies wanting to interview me. They found me on LinkedIn and were asking me if I’d be interested in working for them. Within a few weeks I had 3 job offers without sending an application. I chose the lowest salary job offer, but it was superior in many other ways. I got to build new skills at that company, do environmentally conscious work, biked to work everyday, and had more resources and less stress. During this time I was amassing a large audience, approaching 1 million followers across platforms. The audience was asking for deeper resources: courses, books, and my time. I started a coaching business. The demand was so high, and the client results were so staggering, that I ended up making more in Q1 of 2021 than I would in my entire year working at my corporate job. I LOVED where I worked. But it didn’t make sense to spend 40+ hours a week on a job that paid me a fraction of what I was making outside of work, and also had a fraction of the impact. I was able to build a business on the side because my corporate job energized me instead of deflating me. I help people have that same experience. Well, it’s been such a pleasure helping folks go Job Shopping. If you’re new here, welcome! If you’ve been following me for a while, your support means SO MUCH!
