I don’t know who needs to hear this but: 🔊 It is not too late to change careers Take for example my client Gail: At age 59, Gail knew she wanted to get out of accounting but didn’t know how or WHAT to do next. Her first thoughts were: I need to reskill. I need to get certifications. She considered: 🍊Getting her CPA License 🍊Take a course on Tableau 🛑NO! I told her don’t spend time and money on that. She came on as a client in my program and within 4 months she: 🍊Zeroed in on what she wanted next 🍊Found the glory in her story to reposition her skills to attract completely different jobs 🍊Got 2-5 recruiters asking her to interview a week (who found HER) 🍊Left accounting for good and got a 33% salary increase. With the right tools and strategy, you can do this no matter where you are in your career or your age. I have seen people of ALL AGES change careers. It is hard work...especially in this job market. But it’s not hard work like you’re used to. When people hear hard work, they think: applying for big expensive degrees, passing degree certifications, starting from the bottom and working their way up. What I actually mean is: Uncovering what jobs are actually a good fit, understanding market demand, meeting the right people, repositioning skills in a new way, learning how to be persuasive in interviews. That’s what makes all the difference, but most people aren’t willing to do it. If you want to learn more job shopping strategies, I’ll link a masterclass in my bio. It’s not too late to change careers, as long as you learn how to change your job search strategy.
