Most referral advice here is wrong 👇 1. Find people who did your course, not strangers. Your uni’s LinkedIn page has an Alumni tab. Filter by where they work now. 2. Have the file ready before you ask. A referrer needs your resume as an attachment and the job reference number. Not a profile link. 3. Ask how they got in, not for a job. One question, no pitch. Nobody refers a stranger, but everybody answers that one. 4. Go where they already are. Your industry body runs state branch events. ACS for IT, Engineers Australia, CPA for accounting. 5. Name them in the application. The form asks who referred you. That is the field that registers it. One fifth of jobs are unadvertised. Not 80%. That came from a US radio interview in 2011. 📌 Save this for your next application round. 🔁 Share it with someone still cold messaging strangers. 💬 Stuck on step 1? Comment “NETWORKING” and I’ll help you find your first contact 👇 🎯 Follow @ketanai.dev for the AU job hunt, minus the guesswork #485visa #jobsinaustralia #referral #hiddenjobmarket #internationalstudentsaustralia australiajobs careerinaustralia indiansinaustralia graduatevisa jobsearchaustralia networkingtips workinaustralia sponsoredjobs 482visa aussiejobs . . . . . . . how to get job referrals in Australia, hidden job market Australia myth, employee referral program Australia, 485 visa job search, do referrals skip the hiring process
