Graduate season is now open. If you wanna land an internship or graduate scheme this cycle, listen up. I'll break down to you what you need to do now to prepare yourself in order to land one. And this comes from someone that did 3 internships at the likes of Blackrock and KPMG and worked at two massive asset managers for their graduate scheme. I also run an early careers company, which usually helps employers hire diverse talent. I work a lot of banks doing their early career recruitment, so I feel like I know what I'm talking about. So let's get into it, guys. First thing first, need to be really clear on what you're applying to. So something a lot of you will probably be doing. I understand that you're gonna start from the shotgun approach and apply for everything you apply for. Consulting, asset management, banking, account management, audit roles. Like, firstly, scrap that. Sit down, work out what are the one or two roles that you actually wanna apply for. Start buying out a master C T V. And then put out tailored C T V s for the relevant industry. So if you wanna do asset management and strategy consulting, pick those two, create those two C T V s for those two and focus on that. Scattergun approach will not work in this climate, especially with the level of competition there is out there. So number one, No.2. Your TV needs to be up To scratch. And I know you're gonna get a lot of advice when it comes to T V. I'm gonna go for like the viral advice. What I'll tell you guys now is work out what signals your industry needs in regards to what you're looking for in their T V. By seeing that means what experiences do they rate highly or activities do they rate highly? For example, we're gonna get into consulting. Try and join a consulting society. Try and join one. 80 degrees. Do case competitions. Get involved in, um, Blackmon consulting. Um, do experiences that have a lot of work in regards to business processes or some sort of like strategy towards it e T C. So just make sure you have the right experiences on your C V. Next, start practicing your online assessments. Now this is the stage where literally the vast majority you will fill out the process cause we have most employees try and cut most people. Now what you can do there is you start with a like, job test. Prep graduates first in order to practice that. A lot of your, your careers team at universities actually have free subscription access to all that. So speak to them. Be practicing. Aim to get at least 75, 80% on this test because most companies will cut off around that sort of top 20 quartile when it comes to those online assessments. Please, please, please. Especially if you're trying to get into Like corporate law, I B, high finance, consulting. Don't start your interview prep when you get the interview. Start interview prep now. But I might mean is start doing your K S I D. Prep from now. Start getting. Getting comfortable with your technicals from now. Start learning how to put our D S D. Set up from now. So when it gets to October and you're having these interviews or I'm having these interviews, you had two months of experience or prep ready. Therefore, you rather than sort of get an interview, and in one week, you're gonna learn how to do a D C F, which I promise you, very likely to be able to pass a technical interview if that's the case. So start prepping for your interviews now. And fifth, get a group of you to work together when it comes to applications. Don't do it alone. One of the best things I did at university is that I had a group of mates who were all applying for the same things. We had a group chat, same type of opportunity, same type of, um, questions from higher views. Helped her out when it came to interview prep, which made it all went further. I'm one of my. One of my assistant centres. I took my boys in the same assistant centre for me for a top asset manager. Could be. All helped each other get there. So, yeah, guys, that's my advice for you.

Transplant note
The anti-shotgun argument ("pick one or two roles, build tailored CVs") transplants perfectly and is close to Ark's volume-without-results territory. Heavily UK-specific mechanics would not survive: "graduate scheme", "spring week", "assessment centre", DCF technicals, KSID prep, and the claim that university careers teams hand out free JobTestPrep subscriptions. Australian equivalents: grad programs, HireVue/one-way video interviews, psychometric and cognitive tests, behavioural STAR prep. The "get a group of mates applying to the same things" tactic works but must be reframed for migrants who have no local cohort — that is precisely the gap Ark can name.
Brand fit note
Off-business: Graduate application season and early-career prep. Ark's audience is already working a survival job (not students), not targeting new graduates entering the market.
