You resigned and your managers first question will help you decide what you should do. #career #jobs #corporate #careercoach
Transcript
You resign, your manager's first question isn't "Why are you leaving?" it's "Where are you going?" And please don't feel obligated to tell them. You can simply say, "I'd prefer to keep the details private until everything is final," because once you tell them the company and salary, suddenly there's a counteroffer, suddenly someone knows you're a new manager, suddenly HR is calling you, suddenly your notice period becomes very interesting. Your resignation is information, your next employer's details are your information. You don't have to share everything just because someone else asks.

Narrative structure
myth flip -> exact script line -> anaphora list of consequences -> principle restated
AU transplant
yes
Transplant note
Nothing US-specific: no visa law, no salary bands, no at-will employment reference. Counteroffers, notice periods and HR retention calls work the same way in Australian corporate, though AU notice periods are contractual and award-defined so the "your notice period becomes very interesting" line should be made concrete (four weeks, garden leave). For a migrant audience there is an extra beat worth adding: sponsorship transfer means disclosing the next employer early carries visa risk, not just negotiation risk.
Brand fit note
Strong structural fit. It opens cold, runs a clean contrarian inversion (you think the question is "why", it's actually "where"), gives a real mechanism — an exact sentence to say — and uses the anaphora rhythm the voice doc asks for with the four "suddenly" clauses. It does not trip Never ships #1: declining to disclose is not lying, and it already frames the truth in the most commercially useful order. What is missing is cost accounting — not a single number, no counteroffer figure, no notice period, no retention-rate stat. It is also written for a generic corporate employee; a generic career coach could have written "you don't have to share everything just because someone else asks", so that closing line gets cut. Rebuild with a dollar figure on the counteroffer trap and a migrant-specific stake (sponsorship, visa timing) to make it Ark's.
