Okay, I don't know if everyone knows this LinkedIn tip, but if you don't, you should probably save this if you're looking for a job right now. You can actually upload your resume onto your LinkedIn profile, but not have it public. Like people can't just go and look at it. However, it will rank in LinkedIn searches, so when recruiters are looking for people, if your resume is coded into your profile, you will actually start showing up in those searches. Let me show you how to do it, plus a bonus tip. Go to your settings and privacy, click data privacy, scroll down to job seeking preferences, hit resumes and job applications data. Okay, then here it says share resume data with hires, you can turn it on or off, and all you have to do is upload your resume there. And then a pro tip is to go to this free website, upload your resume, tell it your career goals, it will quiz you and then create a custom learning path to build those skills, or you can generate all sorts of different artifacts like custom podcasts or study guides. Follow for more.

Transplant note
LinkedIn settings are identical in Australia, so the mechanism transfers unchanged. Nothing here is US-specific — no visa law, no US salary bands. Only change needed is framing the payoff around AU recruiter search behaviour (e.g. Melbourne/Sydney agency recruiters sourcing on LinkedIn Recruiter) rather than generic 'recruiters'.
Brand fit note
Format proven by speech ('Let me show you how to do it', 'here it says share resume data with hires'), and it does contain a real mechanism, which passes the 'mechanism not encouragement' check — that's the salvageable part. But it fails several checks: zero numbers (cost accounting rule), no contrarian inversion or system-directed contempt, and 'a pro tip is to go to this free website' is an unnamed third-party tool plug. Lines like 'you should probably save this if you're looking for a job right now' would survive being said by a generic LinkedIn career coach, so they get cut. Rebuild as: claim about why recruiters never surface you -> the setting -> a number on how many searches you're invisible to.
